Sonya Davey

2016 Vice President of Special Events and Programming

Sonya hopes to understand how technology, medicine, and entrepreneurship can be combined to increase access to healthcare. She is passionate about global health equity, and as a Gates-Cambridge scholar, she has conducted ethnographic research on women’s healthcare in India and Tanzania. Sonya is interested in low-cost medical devices, and has started two social ventures, Ultrasafe Ultrasound and SelfCerve. At HealthX, she is excited to meet other students interested in leveraging technology and policy towards global health solutions. 

Olivia Jew

2016 Vice President of Communications

Olivia is passionate about finding creative solutions to problems in healthcare by harnessing technology and business to improve healthcare access and delivery. While majoring in Human Biology at Stanford as an undergraduate, she took a global approach to studying health, bridging disciplines such as health policy, computer science, economics, and literature.
